Am I human?

Words pierce me like bullets shot at close range,
Does difference make you fear me so much?
I am human.

Why do you treat me differently,
Manipulate, coerce, conceal me...
I am human.

I've travelled many miles, hoping to be accepted,
If there is chance my life can get better, my survival wasn't a waste...
I am human.

Please, you people say you live only once,
Take a step in my shoes,
This one life you could be living in hell,
But you wouldn't know,

You are human? yes?
I am human too...

More than an average day....

Days like today when we burst into flames,
Not like a phoenix, 
but a raging fire ball,
Spiralling out of control,
Consuming everything in its path,
Losing momentum with the changing of the wind,
While fuelling the beast of fury...
Words spoken undeniably lacking in truth,
However they cut deep and quick,
Each slice more numb than the last...
